About Redding, CT
Redding is a part of Fairfield County, Connecticut with a population of just over 9,000 people. Redding is a beautiful place, with rocky ridges and valleys, steep slopes and ledges. The highest point, Sunset Hill, northeast of town, is just over 800 feet above sea level. The lowest elevation is just under 300 feet above sea level, the Saugatuck Reservoir along the southern border. There are four streams that flow through Redding toward Long Island Sound, they are the Aspetuck River, the Little River, the Norwalk River, and the Saugatuck River. Redding’s largest body of water, the Saugatuck River, flows through the Saugatuck River and stretches south into Weston. This reservoir was created in 1938 after the flooding of a part of the Saugatuck River Valley.
